MeanLaura is dead. Long live MeanLaura.

Folks, it’s the end of an era.

I have been writing this blog since 2008. It started as part of my job at OPLIN, and it has remained part of that job ever since. It has always lived on a hosted WordPress site, which has been both a joy and a pain in the rear. IYKYK.

I am still going to be writing, but I am moving to a new platform. Going forward, my writing will be separate from my day job.

For a variety of reasons, I am moving to Substack. I do not plan to monetize it anytime soon, but Substack offers writers such a better experience that the move is worth it for me. It also gives me the option to try other formats, including chats, videos, and live events, directly on the platform.

I am still keeping my job at OPLIN, but my writing and my day job are splitting ways. If you have been a regular reader of this blog over the years, please find me on Substack.

I will still be writing about libraries, websites, accessibility, and more, including my annual Christmas fun tools list. But you will probably start seeing some different kinds of content, too.

See you on the flip side,

Laura
